Brief
Dreamhouse is Toronto’s neighborhood sound recording studio in the heart of downtown, built by founder Alexandre Bonenfant in 2012. Since then the studio has had the pleasure of hosting hundreds of talented artists, both locally and internationally and have produced some of the most influential albums over the past decade to come out of the country and beyond.
The studio’s goal is to provide a unique experience for artists and clients big and small - in an eccentric and comfortable atmosphere with high quality recording services at affordable pricing.
Brand
The studio confidently uses the words “eccentric” and “unique” in the description of the experience and the environment. This had to be reflected in the logo. The studio itself is a place where two opposites collaborate to produce a harmonious result.
Artists and musicians bring their wild creativity while the studio provides highly precise equipment and rigorous sound engineering skills. These two opposites – wild creativity and engineering precision – are expressed in the logotype through sharp angular and smooth round corners of an unpredictable outline resulting in a beautiful balanced shape.
The unique shape of the logo is complimented by the simplicity of the typeface offered in a single variation. It was chosen for its elongated curves and the engineered elegance.
The typeface was designed by an established British illustrator and typographer Rian Huges. It is aesthetically based on anonymous alphabet seen in photos of Europe in the 30s. The typeface is available with Adobe Fonts.
